Cricket betting racket busted; 2 held

HYDERABAD: The Champions League might not be drawing houseful audience at RGI stadium at Uppal, but is certainly drawing people to bet on these matches.This came to light after police arrested two people."We raided an apartment at Sultan Bazar and nabbed two who were employed by the bookie," East Zone DCP Y Gangadhar said. The nabbed duo, B Ramchander of Basheerbagh and A Ramesh of Old Malakpet were employed by the bookie Vijay Agarwal, the DCP said.Ramchander has been accepting bets through his phone and Ramesh has been collecting cash from punters. Police recovered Rs 42,000, a TV, laptop and 6 phones from Vijay's house. Vijay Agarwal is at large.
