Farmers have accused the government of misusing certain clauses in the Land Acquisition Act.

New Delhi: The Allahabad High Court will on Tuesday deliver a verdict on acquisition of 2,500 hectares of land in seven villages in Noida Extension.

Farmers have accused the government of misusing certain clauses in the Land Acquisition Act to handover their plots to real estate developers for profits.

A total of 250 petitions were filed before the court in the past two weeks by farmers challenging the state's decision to acquire land.

Some builders too have filed petitions stating that their projects were all legal. The verdict will have a direct bearing on 27 ongoing projects including Gaur, Amrapali, Ajnara and Super City.
