Mumbai: Special court hearing the Mumbai terror attacks case has rejected the application of prime accused in Mumbai terror attack case Mohammed Ajmal Amir Kasab seeking an Urdu translation of charge sheet.

Prime accused in Mumbai terror attack case, Mohammed Ajmal Amir Kasab, had on Tuesday urged for Urdu translation of the 11,000-page chargesheet and one month time to argue on charges proposed to be framed against him, while prosecution had sought probe to determine if he was a juvenile.

The judge M L Tahilyani on Wednesday rejected that application for translation, orders he had reserved until the day on these applications.

Kasab's advocate Abbas Kazmi had moved two applications, one urging for Urdu translation of the chargesheet and the other seeking four weeks time to argue on charges. Kasab needs to understand the proposed charges and only then he can instruct him on his defence, Kazmi had pleaded.

On Wednesday, the Court has decided to grant time till May 2 to Kasab's lawyer to argue on charges against the accused.

Defence lawyer Ejaz Naqvi informed the special court that he would examine Maharashtra minister Narayan Rane and Union minister A R Antulay as defence witnesses on behalf of accused Sabauddin Ahmed in the Mumbai terror attacks.
