BANGALORE: Ramanagaram Deputy Commissioner Puttaswamy came under severe attack for his alleged disrespect shown to the Deputy Chairperson of the Karnataka Legislative Council Vimala Gowda.In a written submission made in the Council here on Wednesday the Deputy Chairperson Vimala Gowda alleged that she had contacted the Ramanagaram Deputy Commissioner on phone, on an issue relating to problems being faced by the stone crushers.She said the Deputy Commissioner shouted at her over phone and asked to her “shut up” refusing to hear though she revealed her identity politely.“The DC also called addressed me in the singular,” she alleged. The Deputy Commissioner has contempt for women in society, considering the way he behaved with me, she said.Taking the matter seriously, members, cutting across party lines, urged the Chair to treat the incident as an attempt to demean not only the member but also the entire house.JD(S) floor leader M C Nanaiah have the Chair to treat the behavior of the DC as contempt of the house and said the officer should be hauled up for his unwarranted behavior with the woman member.Chairman D H Shankaramurthy informed the house that he would issue notices to the concerned.
