Congress leaders who were injured in a deadly Naxal attack in Jeeram Ghati of Chhattisgarh last year on March 29 joined BJP alleging "neglect" by their parent party.
Congress leader Motiram Sahu, party secretary Ajay Shukla, along with party workers, joined BJP at a function in Raipur. Sahu and Shukla were injured in the Maoists' ambush on May 2013 in which 29 Congress leaders were massacred. Sahu charged they were neglected by Congress and were victim of factionalism. "We decided to join BJP because that party respects its activists," he said. BJP office-bearers welcomed new entrants to the party fold.
