CHENNAI: Even as the skies opened up on Thursday morning, the Goethe-Institut, in association with the School of Architecture and Planning, Anna University, inaugurated a photo exhibition titled, ‘The City — Becoming and Decaying’. Capturing the essence of present day urban realities growth and the decay across 22 cities around the globe, this exhibition of pictures was initiated by a group of 18 photographers from Ostkreuz, a reputed photography agency in Germany. This was carried out with C/O Berlin and conceptualised as a long-term photographic project intended to document these processes of steady change.After the inauguration, lectures on topics such as ‘Livelihood: Film, Fashion and Food in the Metropolis’ and ‘Micromegas - desire, need, curiosity’ were also delivered by experts in the field. Aneerudha Paul, Director, Kamla Raheja Vidyanidhi Institute for Architecture, Mumbai and Niels Schönfelder, Director, Mancini Design were some of the speakers present at the inauguration.(The exhibition will be on till November 12 at the School of Architecture and Planning, Anna University)
