An interesting mix of drama, comedy and fairytale is available for cine fans this Friday. Hansal Mehta's City Lights, Disney's Maleficent, Ekta Kapoor's low budget 'Kuku Mathur Ki Jhand Ho Gayi' and Frank Coraci's 'Blended' will be releasing in theaters this weekend.

National Award winning team of 'Shahid' teams up this time with Mahesh Bhatt's Vishesh Films to come with a very realistic film of city life called 'City Lights'. Directed by Hansal Mehta, the film features Rajkummar Rao and new comer Patralekha as migrants in Mumbai who struggle in their daily life to make ends meet. The film is a remake of the BAFTA nominated British film 'Metro Manila'. Bhatt has stated that the film can be compared to his earlier work like 'Saraansh', 'Arth' and it has already got a thumbs up from industry insiders as well as few critics.

Meanwhile, known for big budget multi-starrer productions, Ekta Kapoor treads a different path and presents 'Kuku Mathur Ki Jhand Ho Gayi'. A comedy, the film features relative new comers Siddharth Gupta and Simran Kaur Mundi. From the looks of the film, it promises to be a college campus story based in Delhi. The film has been directed by Aman Sachdeva and director Bejoy Nambiar is a co-producer along with Ekta and Shobha Kapoor.

Hollywood has two big releases. Disney's iconic villain from the classic 'Sleeping Beauty' has her own story to narrate. Angelina Jolie plays the title role in 'Maleficent' who cruelly places an irrevocable curse upon the human king's newborn infant Aurora (played by Elle Fanning). The film also marks the acting debut of Jolie and Brad Pitt's daughter Vivienne Jolie-Pitt as the younger princess Aurora.

Also this Friday, Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore team up yet again for 'Blended'. The film has been produced by Barryore and is a romantic comedy where the two actors play single parents brought together under the same roof in different circumstances.

We are going to be at the movies, tweet reviewing all the four films this Friday. Make sure you follow us at @IBNLivemovies, to get all the updates on all these films.
