City celebrates Independence Day

HYDERABAD: The state BJP celebrated the country’s 65th Independence Day at its office here on Monday. Party state president G Kishan Reddy hoisted the national flag on the occasion. Senior leader Bandaru Dattatreya,  national secretary K Laxman and other leaders attended.Director of archaeology and museums P Chenna Reddy hoisted the national flag at a function held at the office and appealed to the staff to rededicate themselves to preservation of India’s priceless heritage for posterity. He wanted them to draw inspiration from  freedom fighters who did not care for their properties, families or their own lives in their fight for the nation.At the Information Commission’s office commissioner Jannat Hussain hoisted the national fag in the presence of the staff. At the AP Administrative Tribunal (APAT) its chairman justice G Yethirajulu hoisted the national flag.The Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP) also celebrated the day with its vice-chairman and managing director Shashi Bhushan Kumar unfurling the tricolour at LB Stadium Grounds.AP State Road Transport Corporation chairman M Satyanarayana Rao hoisted the national flag at the corporation’s head office, Bus Bhavan, near RTC Crossroads.. Vice-chairman and managing director B Prasada Rao and other  officials of the corporation were present.The Osmania University celebrated the day at a function held in front of the Arts College. Vice-chancellor  Satyanarayana hoisted the national flag. At the Moulana Azad National Urdu University its vice-chancellor Mohammad Miyan hoisted the tricolour.Several central public sector undertakings too celebrated the day with fervour. At the State Bank of Hyderabad’s head office at Gunfoundry in Abids its chief general manager Sudhir Garg hoisted the national flag.  The R&D wing of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) too celebrated the day at its corporate office at Balanagar where executive director HS Jain hoisted the flag. National Thermal Power Corporation Ltd (NTPC) regional executive director (south) Jayadeb Nanda hoisted the national flag at its office while Electronics Corporation of India Limited (ECIL) chairman and managing director YS Mayya hoisted the national flag at the corporation’s office at Kushaiguda.
