Cheating case against Nandini Alva

BANGALORE: A cheating case has been registered against renowned danseuse  Nandini Alva, her daughter Priyanka Alva, wife of Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi, and another person by an advocate for not paying dues to the tune of Rs 75 lakh.N Vinod, who was working as legal expert for Alva’s firms, has filed a private case against them in the Fourth Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) Court in the city.The court has referred the case to Sadashivanagar police station for further investigation. According to the compliant, Vinod along with two other lawyers, Ravi and Sampath, were working for ALV Projects, for which Nandini and Priyanka were directors. The company is into land developing business. They reportedly gave legal opinion after going through the documents related to a land and they were working for the firm since 2007. They had scrutinised the documents of over 450 acres, of which about 100 acres were registered.“For this, she had to pay us Rs 75 lakh. When we asked her to clear the dues, she issued a cheque of Rs 30 lakh dated October 24 on September 21 and told us that she would clear the balance amount after ‘Bengaluru Habba’. But the cheque bounced and Nandini  filed a case in Sadashivanagar police station alleging that we stole the cheque along with a few blank cheques,” said Vinod.“We brought the matter to the notice of city police commissioner but no action was taken. Hence, we filed a private case in the Court against Nandini, Priyanka and Nilosar Hameed, who is the sales manager of the firm. The Court has referred the case to Sadashivanagar police station for further probe,” he added.Sadashivanagar police are investigating the case registered under sections 120b, 406 and 420 of the Indian Penal Code.
