An Indo-Pak joint team will play against a team from other hockey powerhouse for the cause of October 8 earthquake victims.
Lahore: An Indo-Pak joint hockey team will play against the combined team from Australia, Spain, Holland and Germany on December 8 in Chennai on the eve of the Champions Trophy.
The match will be jointly organised by Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF), International Hockey Federation (FIH) and Indian Hockey Confederation to raise funds for the quake victims, a PHF spokesman said.
Chennai hosts the six-nation Champions Trophy from December 10 to 18 the logo for which was unveiled on Monday.
"The Indian team is on a comeback trail and the players will fulfil the dreams of millions of Indians to bring back lost glory," said U K Bose, Deputy Director of Sahara India Pariwar.
Sahara is the title sponsor for the Champions Trophy.
