ALUVA: People should fight the invasion of multinational monopoly on the public-sector units, urged CPI State Secretary C K Chandrappan while saying that only the public sector can safeguard the interests of the nation and its people. He was inaugurating the two-day State Leadership Camp of the Kerala Electricity Officers’ Federation (KEOF) here on Saturday. He said the private companies would be concerned with profit and it is up to the people to fight against the invasion of multinational companies. The working class should keep away their political affiliations and work together to wipe out the corruption from society, the CPI leader urged. Stating that the proposed Lokpal Bill alone cannot eliminate corruption in society, he said there should also be rules to control the Judiciary. There should also be a system to watch the activities of media, just like the Legislature, the Judiciary and the Executive, to avoid corruption, he added. Chandrappan said the election rules should be completely changed and the election expenses should be met by the government.KEOF state president C R Nanukuttan presided over the meet.
