New Delhi: The Centre is considering renaming the Union Territory of Pondicherry as ‘Puducherry’, which new hamlet in Tamil.
A Bill to give Parliamentary consent to the renaming of the Union Territory, is expected to be introduced in the current extended Budget session of Parliament, official sources said.
