HYDERABAD: The Central Bureau of Investigation, which is probing three major scams in the state, told the special CBI court here on Monday that the agency was not targeting IAS officials indiscriminately.
During the arguments on the bail petition of suspended IAS officer BP Acharya, key accused in the EmaarAPIIC scam, CBI's deputy legal adviser B Ravindranath said the CBI did not target any IAS officer in the state in connection with the scams. ``The CBI summoned some IAS officers, who were involved in serious criminal conspiracy in those scams, and questioning them to get more information. A number of IAS officers are working in various departments in the state. We did not summon all of them,'' he said. Opposing Acharya's bail plea, the CBI contended that Acharya had committed serious criminal conspiracy in the EmaarAPIIC scam and alleged that Koneru Prasad's son Madhu Koneru received money that was collected excessively from the villa buyers when Acharya was the chairman and managing director of APIIC.
