THIRUVANANTHAPURAM : The CBI court here on Thursday dismissed the plea seeking further investigation into the Kiliroor sex scandal. Special Court Judge T S P Moosad who considered two petitions on the same demand, rejected both petitions. One petition was filed by Surendaranath, father of the victim Shari S Nair, and the other was filed by P Nagaraju, a lawyer. One of the main arguments raised for seeking reinvestigation was the contradictory reports on the amount of copper content found in the blood samples of Shari. The court summoned Anil Kumar Srivastava, Toxicology Assistant Director, Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL), Hyderabad, as a key witness, who had ruled out the findings of the State forensic lab. The court also rejected the argument of the appellants that the conduct of the case by the Central Bureau of Investigation was not proper and observed that the case was probed exhaustively.Earlier, the plea of Surendranath seeking the court to order the CBI to find out the ‘VIP’ involved in the case was also rejected. The hearing in the main case will continue on January 6, 2012.
