CHENNAI: The Punnagai event hosted by the Rotary Club Akash at the Anna Adarsh College this weekend brought smiles to scores of differently-abled children. With children coming from across 16 homes, the venue boasted of a festive mood. Speaking on the occasion, Antony, a differently-abled entrepreneur said, “There is nothing to worry about when a person is differently-abled. Self confidence and will power continue to be our strength.” He said he started his career as a wage-worker in the leather industry, but today, he had 100 workers working for him in his auto component- making factory. Rotarian Seshadri, an avid stamp collector, addressed the gathering and encouraged the students to participate and enjoy the event.Participants told City Express that they were happy to take part in the day-long event. Few of the kids also said that they had been eagerly waiting for this occasion. According to the organisers, about 650 differently-abled children participated in the day-long event.
