In 2009, the Delhi High Court had reduced the jail term of Sanjeev Nanda from five to two years.

New Delhi: The appeal of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for the enhancement of Sanjeev Nanda, convicted in the BMW hit-and-run case of 1999, is slated to come up at the Supreme Court on Wednesday.

In 2009, the Delhi High Court had reduced his jail term from five to two years.

The High Court had said that Nanda was not guilty of homicide, directing the registrar to initiate perjury proceedings against Sunil Kulkarni, the controversial eyewitness in the case.

Earlier, on September 5, 2008, a trial court had sentenced Nanda to five years in jail for mowing down six people by his BMW car on January 10, 1999.
