BANGALORE: A bike rider died on the spot after a BMTC bus ran over him near Richmond Circle on Friday. The deceased Paul Joseph, was a native of Coimbatore. He was a trainer at Unisys, an MNC on Residency Road. According to police, Joseph, a resident of New Tippasandra, was going to office on his bike at around 11 am when the incident took place. A BMTC bus which was next to his two-wheeler hit his vehicle. Due to its impact, he fell near the rear wheel of the bus. The bus ran over him, killing him on the spot, the police said.According to an eye witness, Mahesh H C, an auto driver took a sudden right turn without any indication. To avoid ramming into the auto, Joseph went towards the bus. But, he lost balance and was knocked down by the bus. The bus was coming from Ramamurthynagar and was going to Majestic. The auto driver fled soon after the incident. Ashoknagar traffic police station registered a case and arrested the bus driver Shashidhar.
