THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Aiming to alleviate the misconceptions on blood donation and also to educate laymen about the positive social impact blood donation can bring about, students of Nalanchara Sarvodaya Central Vidyalaya are organising a blood grouping and blood donation campaign on Wednesday in the school. The programme, titled ‘Design for Change’, will have the participation of the public, the staff and students of Mar Ivanios Vidya Nagar Group of institutions, shopkeepers, auto drivers and parents.According to the school administration, the programme is meant to remove the stigma associated with blood donation. They also claimed that by donating blood, cardiac diseases and accumulation of toxic materials in blood can be prevented. Experts from Sri Chitra Institute for Medical Sciences will attend the camp, which will start at 10 am and conclude by 1.30 pm.
