We want scholarship for poor students of all religions,” he stressed.Accusing the Congress of attempting to divide people on the basis of religion with an eye on minority vote banks, he said it had adopted the “divide and rule policy of the British to garner the votes of Muslims”. The Congress party had been providing scholarship for minorities since 2007 only in pursuance of such a “divisive policy”, he alleged.BJP National Secretary Muralidhar Rao inaugurated the fast. BJP chief Nitin Gadkari and Sushma Swaraj greeted Radhakrishnan over the phone. BJP cadres and supporters from several districts attended the fast.The State unit has been demanding educational assistance for students of the majority community on par with minorities for 2 years now. The party undertook a campaign “Tamarai Yatirai” in 2010 traversing over 9,000 kms covering all districts in the State.
