KOCHI: Various talks and discussions prevail in the state on the indecent talks in the Assembly. Pakalveedu organised a discussion on ‘Unruly Incidents in the Assembly’ under the aegis of Gandhian Sangadanagalude Ekopana Samiti at Gandhi Bhavan, Kacheripady, on Thursday.Adv MR Rajendran Nair presided over the function. He said that certain rules should be imposed for political authorities irrespective of their status. Leaders should possess certain educational qualifications that help better an individual’s personal and social behaviour. But a student contradicted this and said the public usually give importance to personal relations of a leader than his or her educational qualifications.M P Marar, secretary of the Samiti, said that legislators turning unruly in the Assembly is in bad taste and this should not be allowed to continue. The rules of maintaining order and discipline are being curtailed to a large extent. He also added that the elected leaders hardly work for the rights of the people but would rather work for their party. Another participant said that the President’s rule would be more transparent and effective than the present one.The members decided to forward the conclusions of the discussion to the Chief Minister and the Speaker.
