BANGALORE: The city corporation has started its model “CBSE school” for nursery, LKG and UKG classes even though CBSE curriculum starts only from class 1.R Rameshraju, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Education, said this was on experimental basis. He said if the project succeeded, the model would be followed in other schools too and CBSE curriculum would be followed till class 10.A CBSE official said the education board did not have any curriculum for nursery, LKG and UKG classes.Until now, 160 students have enrolled in the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike’s (BBMP’s) “CBSE school”—Sriramapura Corporation High School. It is a joint venture between the BBMP and Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan. They will share the cost equally. Rameshraju said Bhavan would arrange the teaching staff. Each class will have 40 students, 20 from BBMP and 20 from Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan.Joint Managing Committees from both BBMP and the Bhavan will take care of the administration. Students have been given free uniforms and will be given Rs 4,000 towards tuition fees.They will be provided midday meals too.
