The film narrates the real life story of 33 men trapped in the mine
Melbourne: Actor Javier Bardem is tipped to play the lead in a new movie about the trapped Chilean miners.
The Oscar-winning actor is being considered for the film, which tells the real-life story of 33 men who have been trapped in a collapsed mine for the past two months but should be pulled to safety in days, reports skynews.com.au.
The miners have been trapped in the San Jose mine for 67 days and will return to the surface via a 622 metre rescue tunnel. Following their planned rescue, the film bosses are eager to talk to the men to get their version of events and their ordeal.
