Bajrang Dal in legal mess over Parzania
A criminal case has been filed against a Bajrang Dal leader for not allowing the screening of the Parzania in Gujarat.

Ahmedabad: A criminal complaint has been filed in a court at Mehsana town against Bajrang Dal leader Babu Bajrangi for not allowing the release in Gujarat of Parzania, a film based on a Parsi boy who went missing

during the state's communal violence of 2002.

Following the complaint, Judicial Magistrate G M Damodra on Tuesday ordered the town's police to conduct a detailed inquiry into the matter and submit the report to the court within 15 days, Chatur Patel, an advocate appearing in

the case said.

Complainant N K Acharya mentioned in his complaint that Bajrangi seems to be running a parallel government in the state.

He said newspaper reports revealed that Bajrangi was not allowing the film to be screened in the state.

Acharya, a social worker, said in his complaint that the state government is not taking any step for the film's release in multiplexes and cinema halls despite the matter being mired in contorversy for the past two weeks.

He said that an atmosphere of peace and harmony now prevails in Gujarat and the film will not disturb peace in the state.

The complaint said the film's story is about a Parsi boy of Gujarat and his family wanted the film to be released in the state.

The complaint accused Bajrangi of threatening theatre owners to not show the film and taking away the right of people to watch it.

During a meeting with director Rahul Dholaika here on Tuesday, the Multiplex Owners Association refused to screen the film across Gujarat, as it feared violence in the state.
