THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Bipha Drug Laboratories has launched  ‘Bipha Ayurveda’, the airport retail initiative of the 83-year-old ayurvedic medicine manufacturing house, at the international departure terminal of the  International Airport here. The shop was opened by G Chandramouli, Airport Director, Thiruvananthapuram International Airport, on Wednesday.Bipha Ayurveda is a novel initiative to showcase and promote the rich and authentic ayurvedic product heritage of Kerala. The house offers authentic Ayurvedic classical recipes following the principles of the Vedas, herbal supplements for lifestyle disorders, single herb supplements, herbal personal care products, spa products, ayurvedic incenses and aroma therapy products.Bipha Drug Laboratories is an ISO 9000-2001, GMP-certified healthcare company founded in 1929 at Kottayam, manufacturing the largest number of patent formulations in Kerala. Silent in its operations, the company has a firm footprint of over seven decades in the ayurvedic prescription market in Kerala. The company has pioneered the manufacture of ‘Kashaya’ tablet formulations and holds the first patent for manufacturing Ayurvedic tablet formulations in the State. Besides, Bipha manufactures a host of clinically-validated products for hypertension, diabetes, cholesterol, haemorrhoids, liver disorders etc. It has recently launched ‘Big Cig’, a herbal non-nicotine smoking cessation product, after undertaking extensive clinical trials.Bipha is currently present in all South Indian states and exports to about 13 countries.Bipha Ayurveda airport shop is the second initiative of the company into the travel retail segment.
