Ashish Bagga is INS president

BANGALORE: The Indian Newspaper Society held its annual general body meeting in the city on Friday. The meeting was followed by an election in which Ashish Bagga of India Today was appointed as the president.In the elections, office-bearers of the association were also elected, which included K N Tilak Kumar (Prajavani) being elected as elected Deputy President, Ravindra Kumar (The Statesman) elected as Vice-President and Rakesh Sharma (Aaj Samaj) elected as honorary treasurer.V Shankaran was elected as the the secretary general of the Society while B S Adityan (Vaarantari Rani), V K Chopra (Dainik Asam), Devendra Darda (Lokmat Times), Jagjit Singh Dardi (Charhdikala Daily), Ravindra Dhariwal (Navbharat Times), Mahendra Mohan Gupta (Dainik Jagran), L Adimoolam (Health and The Antiseptic), Girish Agarwal (Dainik Bhaskar, Bhopal), Samahit Bal (Pragativadi), K Balaji (The Hindu Weekly), P V Chandran (Grihalakshmi), were elected as the Committee members.The other members included Manoj Kumar Sonthalia (The New Indian Express), Pratap G Pawar (Sakal), Abhay Chhajlani (Nayi Dunia), M P Veerendrakumar (Mathrubhumi), Jacob Mathew (Vanitha), Bahubali S Shah (Gujarat Samachar), Hormusji N Cama (Bombay Samachar Weekly), T Venkataram Reddy (Deccan Chronicle), Kundan R Vyas (Vyapar, Mumbai), Akhila Urankar (Business Standard), Kiran B Vadodaria (Sambhaav Metro), M Venkatesh (Hindustan Times), Vijay Darda (Lokmat), Vijay Kumar Chopra (Punjabi Kesari, Jalandhar).Shekhar Gupta (Loksatta, Mumbai), Sanjay Hazari (The Tribune), Mohit Jain (Economic Times), R Lakshmipathy (Dinamalar), Rajul Maheshwari (Amar Ujala), Jayant Mammen Mathew (Malayala Manorama),R M R Ramesh (Dinakaran), K Raja Prasad Reddy (Sakshi, Vishakhapatnam), Somesh Sharma (Rashtradoot Saptahik), Vilas A Marathe (Dainik Hindusthan, Amravati), Pradeep Gupta (Dataquest), Sanjay Gupta (Dainik Jagran, Varanasi), Shailesh Gupta (Mid-Day), R Naresh Mohan (Sunday Statesman), Abhijit Pratap Pawar (Gomantak, Goa), Maheshwer Peri (Outlook), were the other elected society members.
