According to exit polls, AAP appears set for a sweeping victory in the Delhi Assembly elections for which voting took place.

New Delhi: AAP chief ministerial candidate Arvind Kejriwal's presence at a polling station in his New Delhi constituency sent the media and the staff at the election booth in a feeding frenzy.

No sooner had he arrived at the station in B K Dutt Colony in Jor Bagh area, the AAP supremo was mobbed by photojournalists.

After somehow making his way inside the station, he was guided to his booth (No. 144) where he cast his vote.

Immediately after he exercised his franchise, he was again mobbed by polling staff, who wanted to either take his photograph or be photographed with him. Some, were seen taking selfies with him.

The former Delhi chief minister later obliged his admirers and posed for pictures and selfies with them.

Sporting a bluish-grey sweater, Kejriwal arrived at about 10 AM, in his grey Innova car but, unlike last Delhi polls, when his wife and children had accompanied him to his polling station, he was seen unaccompanied at the station.

The AAP chief later also flashed his inked fingers at the posse of photojournalists, who had been eagerly waiting, right outside the booth, to capture him on the camera.

Guided by senior police officials, Kejriwal was later taken inside a classroom at the school (his polling station) to avoid the media frenzy outside.

While waiting, he again obliged few more people to take selfies or pictures with him.

The police seeing the situation, decided to take him (Kejriwal) out of an alternate exit. But, no sooner was he out in the streets, the media once again mobbed him, for taking pictures and sound bites.

He then with some difficulty managed to climb back into his car and left the polling station, leaving behind the frenzied atmosphere.

According to exit polls, AAP appears set for a sweeping victory in the Delhi Assembly elections for which voting took place.
