New Delhi: The families of those accused in the Arushi murder case are struggling to come to terms with life. With the investigating agencies finding no evidence against them, they are all likely to walk free.
When then IG, Meerut Zone Gurudarshan Singh accused Arushi's father of the murder, calling him a man of "loose character", it was just the beginning for the Talwars.
For the family, life has been a downward spiral since the morning of May 16. The Talwars woke up to find their only child Arushi, brutally murdered.
The loss had not even sunk in when Dr Rajesh Talwar was accused of the murder.
Overnight a reputed doctor had become a hated criminal, put behind bars by the Noida Police.
He lost his daughter, his reputation and then his job at Fortis hosiptal. After 50 days of interrogation in Dasna jail, the CBI let Dr Talwar walk free on July 12 for lack of evidence.
The Talwars are trying their best to get their life back together. Besides a week long course in the Art of Living, it's the strong family support that is helping them get through this difficult time.
Even for the other three accused in the country's most sensational double murder case, life has been one long trial and it will be a while before they can free themselves of the shadows of the past.
