New Delhi: Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi met a delegation of student representatives from the North East led by Member of Parliament from Arunachal Pradesh Ninong Ering to discuss the issue of security of youth from the North East.
Rahul while meeting the delegation expressed anguish over the death of the Arunachal student Nido Taniam and agreed that a free and fair investigation must be carried out into the incident.
Rahul also expressed grave concern over the disturbing trend of growing violence against young people from North East India. He assures the delegation that he would do his utmost to ensure that justice is done and appropriate measures are taken so that such incidents are not repeated in the future.
