MYSORE: Commenting on the proposal of merging Defence Food Research Laboratory (DFRL) with other organisations, DFRL Director A S Bawa said that the army has opposed any such plan.He was explaining the challenges and opportunities before the food processing industry at the 51st Lab Raising Day held at DFRL on Wednesday. Bawa said,”we are facing serious problems as DFRL was proposed to merge with another organisation. But, our headquarters turned down the proposal. I hope the status quo will be prevailed as the Army has written a letter to the Defence Ministry, opposing the move,” Bawa said while addressing the DFRL staff. There was a proposal to merge the DFRL - one of the Defence Research and Development Organization’s leading life sciences facilities - with the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR).
