HYDERABAD: Senior Telangana Congress leader and Rajya Sabha member K Keshava Rao made it clear on Saturday that the decision taken by the Telangana Congress public representatives who include state ministers, MPs, MLAs and MLCs to quit their respective posts were not intended to create a constitutional or political crisis in the state nor to dislodge the Kiran Kumar Reddy government. He said the step was to bring pressure on the Centre for an early formation of Telangana state. At a meet-the-press programme organised by the Telangana Journalists Forum (TJF) at the Somajiguda Press Club here, Keshava Rao said nothing had materialised despite Congress’ assurance in its election manifesto, alliance with TRS in the 2004 elections, central government’s statement on December 9, 2009, etc. Rao condemned AICC leader Ghulam Nabi Azad’s remark that the Centre should take into account the concerns of the people of all the three regions and consult its UPA partners on issues having national ramifications.
