Mumbai: Anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare will turn 74 on Wednesday. He will be in the national capital, where he will attend a meeting of the joint panel to draft the Lokpal Bill.
"Normally, Anna is at his village Ralegaon Siddhi in Ahmednagar district and insists on his birthday being a low key affair. We are following the trend this year too," Hazare's aide Datta Awari said.
"There will be tree plantation, like every year as he does not like celebrating his birthday in a big way," Awari said.
"Every year, we hold programmes like tree plantation, lunch for orphanage kids and blood donation. There is also fruit distribution programme in government hospitals," he said.
However, his supporters have big plans for his birthday next year, when Hazare will turn 75. "Next year, we are planning grand celebrations," Awari said.
