Mumbai: An Air India aircraft had a narrow escape after a faulty landing at Mumbai airport on Sunday. The Aircraft AI922 was operating from Riyadh to Mumbai. Just before the flight was about to land, the aircraft hit turbulence and dropped 100 feet.
Sources suggest the captain of the flight forgot to inform the cabin crew that the flight was close to touch down. While the passengers were safe, 6 crew members reportedly suffered bruises due to the impact of the faulty landings.
As per the rules, it is mandatory for the flight's commander to inform the cabin crew of the landing and of any possible turbulence. But the captain reportedly did not make any announcements leaving the crew off guard when turbulence hit the plane. Six crew members fell on the ground and sustained injuries.
The personal injury report of one of the crew members indicates that the incident took place around 1:10 PM, minutes before the flight landed. There was no response from Air India's Delhi office.
