New Delhi: The first look of Agneepath, staring Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra and Sanjay Dutt, is out and seems to have been made on the lines of the original of the early 80's.Loud music coupled with religious chanting in the background and the hero running towards the villain amidst all the chaos brings it closer to the typical Hindi film revenge story.

Hrithik will play the protagonist, the legendary Vijay Dinanath Chauhan, while Sanjay Dutt has been roped in to play Kancha Cheena. Nobody knows what Priyanka will be doing as Madhavi too had nothing much to do in the earlier edition. However, Priyanka's stature is certainly bigger than Madhavi's and she is expected to have at least some emotional scenes. Playing second time opposite Roshan, Priyanka would love to have another hit after Krrish.

Rishi Kapoor is also one of the prominent members of the script. With 'surma' laden eyes and a black qawaali cap, he looks cunning and dangerous. However the looks of the hero Roshan does not appear to be modeled on the lines of Amitabh Bachchan in the cult original. He is neither styled in coat or grey pant, nor does he have kohl lined eyes. On the contrary, this new Vijay looks more the 'hero' than the original one, who looked absolutely convincing as a local don.

According to popular legend, the director of the earlier version Mukul S Anand, had to make Danny wait for a few seconds before answering to Vijay Dinanath Chauhan on screen. It will be difficult for Karan Malhotra to match the magic of Big B's mannerism and body language.

The terror created by the personality of Danny, his overpowering deep black shades and his white suit will be missed as the new Kancha Cheena, despite his menacing looks, has a beefed up body, tattoos on muscled arms and is wearing an earring. Further, Dutt will also have to match up to Danny's unique dialogue delivery.

Hrithik claims that the film is entirely different from the older one, and it will be a good thing if true, as the previous film is extremely hard to match, especially writing wise. Many social problems were raised through dialogue in the earlier film. In almost every dialogue of Big B in Agneepath, people identified with the man who was stating the ground realities in crude words. Vijay described telephone as a deceptive device and the audiences clapped. He explained the value of higher salary to evade corruption and the masses erupted. He stated the uncertainty of life by stating his exact age and the crowd became berserk.

The new Vijay, Hrithik Roshan, is known for angry trembling cheeks in close up shots but he is nowhere close to that image of angry young man of Big B. Bachchan might be of 48 years while playing a 36 year old, but who cared as far as he represented the uprising of the downtrodden against the mighty, rich and ruthless?

Hrithik looks much more sophisticated and thus despite being a superb actor, he will need extra efforts to play Vijay. Therefore, it will be helpful for him if the script does not follow the older line. But, if done aptly, this new Agneepath could change his image forever.
