THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A youth’s affair with a girl proved costly for him after he was caught and assaulted by the girl’s relatives while skirting near her house early on Saturday morning.Abdul Kalam ,28, a resident of Azad Nagar, was attacked by the relatives of the girl after he was spotted near the girl’s house at Azad Nagar at Poonthura. It is learnt that Abdul Kalam and the girl were having in affair for quite some time. The relatives of the girl were severely opposed to the relationship. On Saturday, the relatives noticed Kalam outside the house and one of them, identified as brother-in-law of the girl, attacked Kalam with some sharp object. Abdul Kalam was rushed to Medical College Hospital. His condition is said to be serious. Poonthura police have arrested a person Kasim in connection with the attack and are on the lookout for others.
