New Delhi: Nearly a week after its triumph over World Champions Australia to win the Commonwealth Bank Tri-series Championship, accolades for Team India continue to pour in.

The latest to laud the Indian cricket team's triumph in the tri-series, the first win by India in a ODI tournament in Australia, is Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan.

In a congratulatory message to the Indian cricketing heroes, Aamir, in his personal blog, said: "A win in Australia against arguably the world's best team is especially joyous. Congratulations to the Indian team for putting up such a good show. I really enjoyed watching the win."

Taking an indirect dig at Australian captain Ricky Ponting's tall claims of his team wrapping up the tri-series 2-0, Aamir said, "Turns out Ponting was right about his prediction that there would be no need for the third match to decide the finals!"

While lauding the triumph by the Indian team and the wave of euphoria over the win , Aamir criticised the media and the public which, he pointed out, were not too long ago running down the same team after their poor show.

''At this moment, let us also stop for a moment and remind ourselves that sometime back we were prepared to lynch the Indian team for not performing well. I hope the fans and a bulk of the national media who behaved so badly then are dropping their heads in shame," Aamir said.

He was specially full of praise for master blaster Sachin Tendulkar and bowler Praveen Kumar, who, with their good show with bat and bowl respectively, were instrumental in the Indian team's tri-series triumph.

''A huge applause for Sachin whose last two innings were instrumental in securing our win. Also that Praveen Kumar is quite a find I must say," Aamir said.

''I was a little disappointed though with the farewell to Adam Gilchrist. I think a player of his caliber deserved a better sendoff. Being a mushy emotional kind I would have also liked him to score at least a 50 in his last match. He certainly is one of the greats of International cricket," the superstar said.

On the film front, Aamir said he was busy in work on preparing the DVD of his debut directorial venture, which has won rave reviews from critics and earned excellent box office figures.

''Of late, what has been really troubling me is the the director's commentary that I need to record for the Tare Zameen Par DVD. Personally, I feel I have said what I had to through the film. Also, I think that films should be experienced, I shouldn't need to explain stuff," Aamir said and asked for suggestions from net surfers on what they wanted included in the DVD of the film.

''I've already put in what I think will be great extras, but maybe I've missed out something," Aamir said.
