VELLORE: A 7-year-old boy was killed on the spot after getting injured on head, when he was hit by a lorry carrying loads of sand near Pallikonda on Tuesday morning. The boy, Niranjan (7) of Anaicut road in Kandhaneri near Pallikonda was studying in class 1 in Kandhaneri middle school. On Tuesday morning when he was on his way to school near the Kandhaneri junction at Vellore-Ambur road, he was hit by a lorry.Pallikonda police filed a case in this connection.Two Held on Theft ChargeTwo persons were arrested on Tuesday in connection with a theft in a private company near Arakkonam. Spare parts and other materials worth `7.5 lakh went missing in a private company at Eggu Nagar in Arakkonam. Sources said, the generator in the company had failed and the technicians dismantled it for repair. When they came on Tuesday morning, they found the spare parts and other materials missing.Based on the company’s deputy manager complaint, Arakkonam town police arrested Kumar(46) and Raghu (22) of Kavanur colony. The cops are on the lookout for three more persons who are also suspected to have been involved in the crime.Shop Sealed for Employing Child A shop was sealed and a fine of `10,000 imposed on the owner of the shop here on Monday for employing a child.Mubarak (12), employed in an auto workshop at Kaniyambadi was rescued a few days back. He was admitted to a nearby school.Child labour welfare project officials, who rescued the boy, filed a case at the court of Judicial Magistrate-1 in Vellore Court which ordered to seal the shop. Following this, the shop was sealed by the officials concerned.
