HYDERABAD: Seven candidates filed their nomination papers on Saturday to contest the by-elections for seven Assembly seats for which polling will be held on March 18. The names of constituencies and candidates who filed their nominations on Saturday are given below.NelloreYuvajana, Sramika, Rythu Congress Party’ candidate Nallapureddy Prasanna Kumar Reddy filed his nomination for the Kovur Assembly seat on Saturday.Accompanied by Nellore MP, M.Rajamohan Reddy, former minister Konathala Ramakrishna, YSRCP district convener K Goverdhan Reddy and others, he went to the Kovur MRO’s office around 12:50 pm and submitted four sets of nomination papers to returning officer Veerabhadra Rao.Nallpureddy Geetha Reddy, wife of Prasanna Kumar Reddy, also filed her nomination as a dummy candidate of the party.She too submitted four sets of nomination papers to the returning officer.Speaking to mediapersons later, Prasanna Kumar criticised the ruling and opposition parties for their failure to discuss important public issues in the Assembly.Instead, the Congress and the TDP concentrated on criticising each other, he said.With the ruling and opposition parties failing to live up to their expectations, masses were now looking at YSRC as the only alternative, he claimed and exuded confidence that he would win the March 18 bypoll with a good majority.Rajamohan Reddy said Prasanna Kumar Reddy would win the election with a thumping majority. * Nagarkurnool: Marri Janardhan Reddy, Mari Jamuna Rani (both TDP) * Kollapur: J Kurumurthy (Ind), Vishnuvardhan Reddy (Cong) * Kovur: N Prasanna Kumar Reddy and N Geetha Reddy (both YSRC) * Station Ghanpur (SC): Iliashan Daida (CPM) * Adilabad: Nil * Kamareddy: Nil * Mahbubnagar: Nil
