22 children, who lost their homes in flash floods, leave for Delhi tour
Months after they experienced rains and flash floods that ravaged their homes and claimed several lives, twenty-two children from Uttarakhand are in Delhi as part of their first excursion outside their state. The initiative has been made by paramilitary Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) which itself was in thick of action rendering relief and rescue operations in the state last year.

Months after they experienced rains and flash floods that ravaged their homes and claimed several lives, twenty-two children from Uttarakhand are in Delhi as part of their first excursion outside their state. The initiative has been made by paramilitary Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) which itself was in thick of action rendering relief and rescue operations in the state last year.

The children hail from the Mandakini valley area of the state and will be visiting historical places in and around the national capital before they return to their home via state capital Dehradun.

The ITBP, which is present in the state as part of border guarding duties along China frontier, is conducting this six-day programme under their civic action work gesture.
