CHENNAI: Students who are admitted into 17 engineering colleges in the state through lateral entry mechanism are at the risk of their names being missed from the rolls for semester examinations. It has emerged that these colleges are yet to get necessary approval from the Directorate of Technical Education (DOTE).Lateral entry candidates admitted during the year 2011-12 in 17 colleges have not yet been approved, said a press release issued by the Controller of Examination, Anna University of Technology, BE/B Tech “We are unable to upload the nominal roll for those students of respective colleges. “In this regard the colleges can take necessary steps to clear the lateral entry admission process at the DOTE and forward the information to the University on or before October 19, 2011 so as to proceed further,” said the release.“If the necessary approval is not received before October 19, it will not be possible to include the candidates in the ensuing November 2011 theory and practical examinations,” it said.
