Naga Chaitanya To Make His OTT Debut With Amazon Prime's Dootha
After facing multiple failures in creating original content in the Telugu language, Amazon Prime Video is taking a daring step.

Naga Chaitanya’s eagerly awaited web series, Dootha, directed by Vikram K Kumar, is scheduled to debut on December 1 on Prime Video. After facing multiple failures in creating original content in the Telugu language, Amazon Prime Video is taking a daring step with this show, committing a substantial budget of Rs 40 crore. Their goal is to compete with Netflix by providing top-notch regional content.

Naga Chaitanya’s career has been marked by a recurring pattern of delivering a major success, followed by a string of unsuccessful films, and then another hit. Currently, he is facing a challenging phase as movies like Thank You and Custody have not been well-received. However, he has a significant project in development, directed by Chandoo Mondeti and featuring Sai Pallavi. Amidst this, he is also presenting Dootha, a crime thriller with an impressive ensemble cast, including Parvathi T, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Prachi Desai, and Tharun Bhascker.

If Dootha resonates with the OTT audience, it might offer Naga Chaitanya a much-needed break and relief until his upcoming project with Chandoo Mondeti hits the screens.

Naga Chaitanya’s last appearance was in Venkat Prabhu’s Custody, which did not perform well at the box office. Since its release in May, the actor has been relatively quiet and has not yet revealed his next film project. While fans were curious about his activities, the Telugu actor posted on Instagram, suggesting that he has been honing his acting skills.

Naga Chaitanya recently posted on Instagram, sharing pictures with a group of individuals. Based on the photos and the people he tagged, it appears that he visited a theatre group in Pondicherry and dedicated some time to improving his acting abilities. The actor also posed with a group of theatre artists and gave glimpses of a scenic wooden structure nestled in a natural environment.

Naga Chaitanya’s recent films, Thank You and Custody, faced disappointment at the box office. Custody released in both Tamil and Telugu, despite high expectations, managed to collect only Rs 26.8 Crore. The actor is now eagerly anticipating a strong comeback with his next project.
