How to Wash a Figma
How to Wash a Figma
If you're a fan of Japanese action figures, you probably want to know how to take care of your Figmas. This article will help and guide you carefully through the steps of washing a Figma figure.
Steps

Preparing

Set up your cleaning station. If you are in the bathroom, you can just use the sink. If you are in a bedroom or living room, lay down a towel to protect your surfaces and the figures. If you are outside, make sure no pets are around so they won't break or knock over your figure, and lay down a towel as well, to keep the clean figures from getting dirty again.

Gather your supplies. Grab a towel, some cotton swabs or Q-tips (about one or two per figure), a cup of warm water (if you don't have a sink nearby), and possibly some soap depending on how dirty your figure is. You'll need your Figma, too, of course!

Take the whole figure apart. That includes head, hair pieces, face plates, hands, arms, feet, and legs. For a Nendoroid, only take the head off. Since there are smaller pieces, you should only take off the head, but if you are confident, take everything off like before. For statues or PVC figures, take them off of the base. If they include optional parts (which is uncommon), take those off. Place all of your extra parts in neat groups. Make sure they won't get bumped in the process, and that they won't get lost.

Cleaning Your Figure

Look for any dirt, grime, or smudges on your figure. If you spot one, take the swab/Q-tip, and dip it into the water. Don't let it get too wet; it only needs to be damp! Carefully brush the dirty part, and set it down when completed.

Repeat the process until the figure looks clean. For a base or stand, take a wet wipe, and wipe it across the base. Then let it dry.

Dry the parts. Once all the dirty parts are clean, carefully dry them off with the towel, one by one. Now you have cleaned your figure!

Put all the pieces back on your figure carefully, and set your figure back to how it was. Now your figure is clean and good as new. With the figure back to normal, clean up the rest of the mess.

Finished.

What's your reaction?
