Open the Google Play Store Android Google Play app. This has a white icon with a red, blue, green, and orange arrow in it and can be found in the apps drawer.

Type “Internet speed meter” into the Android 7 Search search bar.

Select Internet Speed Meter. This has a dark blue icon with two white arrows in it and will display in the list of relevant search results.

Tap Install.

Tap the Open button once the app has finished downloading. This will redirect you to the Internet Speed Meter app, which will list a log of Internet speeds by date.

Open the Settings Android 7 Settings menu in the app. This is in the top-left corner of the menu for Internet Speed Meter and has a gear icon.

Select the Floating Widget tab. This is at the top of the Settings page.

Tap the switch next to the Enable Widget option. It will turn blue to indicate that the floating widget is enabled.

Monitor your internet speed in the menu bar at the top of your screen. You'll be able to view your download and upload times there or look at the app for a more detailed report.
