How to Fix FaceTime Screen Sharing Not Working on iOS: 8 Tips
Is FaceTime not letting you share your screen? If screen share isn't working on your iOS device, you can easily troubleshoot it. Here's what to do if you can't share your screen on FaceTime using an iPhone or iPad.
Quick Fixes for Sharing Your Screen on FaceTime

Enable SharePlay.

Check if SharePlay is turned on. If you can't share your screen on FaceTime, you may have accidentally turned off SharePlay. To enable it again, do the following: Go to Settings. Tap FaceTime. Tap SharePlay. Toggle on SharePlay.

Enable iCloud sync.

Turn on iCloud sync. In some cases, setting up your phone without iCloud sync may disable the screen share option in FaceTime. To turn it on, do the following: Go to Settings. Tap your Apple ID. Tap iCloud. Tap Apps using iCloud. Toggle on FaceTime. Return to the previous page. Tap iCloud Backup. Toggle on Back Up This iPhone.

Toggle FaceTime off and on.

Turn FaceTime off and on again. This restart may fix common issues, including problems with screen sharing. Do the following: Go to Settings. Tap FaceTime. Toggle off FaceTime. Wait a few minutes. Toggle on FaceTime again.

Update your iOS.

Make sure your device is updated to the latest version. Updates include the latest bug fixes. The recipient must also have their iPhone or iPad updated. Go to Settings. Tap General. Tap Software Update. Tap Download and Install.

Check your connection.

Make sure you have a strong connection. For best results, use a Wi-Fi network when using FaceTime. Sharing your screen may need a stronger connection than your cellular data.

Restart your device.

Turn your device off and on again. A quick restart can fix common issues. Do the following: On iPhones without a Home button, press and hold the Power button and Volume Up button until the Power slider appears. On iPhones with a Home button, press and hold the side button until the slider appears. Slide the slider with your finger and wait for your iPhone to turn off. Wait 30 seconds, and then turn it back on.

Sign out and sign in again.

Log into your Apple ID again. This can be done in your FaceTime settings. Do the following: Go to Settings. Tap FaceTime. Tap your Apple ID in blue underneath Caller ID. Tap Sign Out. Wait a few minutes. Tap sign in to log into your Apple ID again.

Reset Network settings.

Reset your iPhone's network settings. If you still can't share your screen on FaceTime, resetting your network settings may help. This will also erase any saved Wi-Fi networks and passwords, cellular settings, and VPN/APN settings, so you'll need to enter those again later. Do the following: Go to Settings. Tap General. Tap Transfer or Reset [Device]. Tap Reset. Tap Reset Network Settings.

What's your reaction?
