Blocking with Parental Controls (iPhone/iPad)
Open your iPhone's Settings iPhone Settings App Icon. You'll find the gear icon on your home screen or in the app library. You can use Apple's built-in content filtering to prevent a child from going to Yahoo on the phone or tablet. To do this, you'll need to also block access to adult websites.
Tap Screen Time. It's the hourglass icon.
Enable Screen Time if you haven't already. If Screen Time is already on, you'll see some stats about usage. If not, tap Turn On Screen Time to enable it now. Then perform the following steps: Tap Continue. Tap This is My Child's iPhone. Tap Not Now twice. Tap Continue. Enter and confirm a new passcode. This will be used to edit your screen time settings, including settings for content filtering. Follow the on-screen instructions to enable screen time.
Tap Content & Privacy Restrictions. It's toward the bottom.
Tap Content Restrictions. It's near the top.
Tap Web Content. It's near the middle of the menu.
Select Limit Adult Websites. This expands more options below.
Add Yahoo to the list of "Never Allow" websites. As soon as you add a site to this list, anyone who tries to view it in a web browser on this iPhone or iPad will see a "Restricted" error. To bypass the restriction, they'll need to enter the Screen Time PIN. To add Yahoo to the list: Tap Add Website under "Never Allow." Type www.yahoo.com and tap done. Repeat those steps for yahoo.com and mail.yahoo.com (if you want to block Yahoo mail too).
Tap the back button to return to Content & Privacy Restrictions. Now that you've blocked the website, you can either stop here, or continue if you want to prevent your child (or other person) from downloading any Yahoo-related apps from the App Store. Keep in mind that the child will not be able to download any apps, not just Yahoo.
Tap iTunes & App Store Purchases. It's near the top.
Select Always Require. This ensures that the person using the phone or tablet will not be able to install apps unless they have your Screen Time password.
Blocking with Parental Controls (Android or Chromebook)
Open the Family Link app on your Android or Chromebook. If you manage a child's account and don't want them visiting Yahoo or any Yahoo-affiliated sites (such as Yahoo Mail), you can block the site in the Family Link app. The Family Link app has a blue, green, and yellow shield icon and you'll find it in your app list. If you don't have the Family Link app on your Android or Chromebook, you can get it from the Play Store, or just go to https://g.co/YourFamily and sign in.
Select the account you want to block Yahoo for. This opens that account's settings.
Tap Manage settings on the Settings card. More settings will expand.
Tap Filters on Google Chrome.
Tap Manage Sites.
Tap Blocked. If any sites are already blocked, they will appear here.
Tap Add an exception. Now you'll be able to enter the address of the site you want to block.
Add any Yahoo URLs you want to block. If you just want to block the main Yahoo website, enter www.yahoo.com and yahoo.com. If you also want to block Yahoo Mail, enter mail.yahoo.com as well.
Tap the X after you're done making changes. The changes will take effect immediately. Since you're blocking the website in user's Google account, it will affect their browsing anywhere they sign in.
