Barcelona: Zaragoza moved three points clear of the relegation zone in the Spanish league after beating Getafe 2-1 on Monday.
Midfielder Leonardo Ponzio hit Zaragoza's 14th-minute opener at La Romareda stadium with a dipping blast from outside the area. Nicolas Bertolo made it 2-0 in the 35th when he finished off a counterattack led by Nigeria striker Ikechukwu Uche.
Getafe captain Francisco Casquero scored from a rebound in the first-half injury time to halve the deficit, but the hosts protected their advantage in the second half to earn their first win in three games.
Zaragoza's third straight home win lifted it three points above drop-zone teams Hercules and Malaga and to within one point of Getafe, which hasn't won away in seven outings.
"(The win) gives us some breathing room," Zaragoza coach Javier Aguirre said. "But nobody has been saved from relegation with 33 points and now we have a tough outing (at Villarreal)."
Over the weekend, Barcelona came from behind to win 3-1 over last-place Almeria to maintain its eight-point advantage over second-place Real Madrid, which beat Athletic Bilbao 3-0.
Madrid hosts Barcelona next Saturday in the first of four likely "clasico" matches in the coming weeks.
Third-place Valencia thrashed Villarreal 5-0 to open up a six-point gap over its opponent, while Atletico Madrid moved to within one point of fifth-place Sevilla with a 3-0 win over Real Sociedad.
