New Delhi: Thierry Henry has described his international team-mate Franck Ribery as the 'Lionel Messi of Bayern Munich' and has heaped praise on Barcelona's Champions League opponents.
The Catalans meet the German side in the next round and after they thrashed Sporting CP in the last 16 stage, it looks set to be an intriguing affair.
Henry told Marca that he sees Ribery as "the Messi of Bayern" and went on to praise both him and his team-mates.
"When there is no space, Franck can do things and with his qualities he can do damage to Barcelona, to (Real) Madrid, to Manchester United or any team," he explained.
"They have a lot of players who can make the difference and score goals, such as (Miroslav) Klose, Luca Toni, or (Bastian) Schweinsteiger."
Certainly they have the firepower to hurt Barcelona and Henry did not want to predict a scoreline, saying "we will try to play a good game here and then have a calm return leg, but no one knows."
The French international has already played Bayern plenty of times in his career and has not had much luck against them in his Arsenal days.
He spoke about the outcomes on the previous occasions he has met them and also declared he is pleased not to be playing his former side.
"We lost two games, drew another, and then won one when it did not matter because they knocked us out," he mused.
"We have managed to avoid Arsenal, a team that I did not want to face."
