Chelsea were held to a draw at home by Nottingham Forest as the Premier League game between the sides on Sunday ended in a 1-1 stalemate.
Chris Wood opened the scoring for the visitors in the 49th minute before Noni Madueke’s 57th-minute strike ensured Enzo Maresca’s men salvaged a point at home.
Robert Sanchez started at goal, behind Malo Gusto, Wesley Fofana, Levi Colwill and Marc Cucurella. Moises Caicedo, Enzo Fernandes and Cole Palmer made up the midfield with Noni Madueke and Jadon Sancho on the wings, and Nicolas Jackson up front.
Nuno Espirito Santo started Matz Sels in goal, with Alex Moreno, Murillo, Nikola Milenkovic, and Ola Aina in defence. James Ward-Prowse, Ryan Yates and Morgan Gibbs-White were deployed in the middle of the park while Callum Hudson-Odoi and Elliot Anderson were on the left and right flanks respectively. Chris Wood was the lone striker upfront for Forest.
The teams went into the halftime break with nothing between them as neither team could find the back of the net in the opening period of the game.
The second period was a different tale somewhat as Wood gave the visiting Forest a surprise lead in the 49th minute of the game to put his side ahead. But the lead did not last for long as Chelsea hit back in the 57th minute thanks to a strike from Madueke to restore parity.
Forest went a man down with just over ten minutes of regulation time left to play as Ward-Prowse was given the marching orders as Stamford Bridge urged their side to make the numerical advantage count and go for the winner.
However, the touring side managed to keep the Blues at bay to pick up a precious point on the road.
