Milan: Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri is hoping to use the upcoming two-week international break to rejuvenate his side after they lost 1-0 away at Palermo, thanks to a goal from Romanian defender Dorin Goian.
The defeat means that Milan have gone two consecutive league games without victory after last week's disappointing 1-1 draw with Bari at home. Allegri is now hoping that title rivals Inter and Napoli slip up tomorrow.
"It would have been better to avoid this defeat to Palermo but I still have confidence in this team," Allegri told the press. "Now there is a break and hopefully we can come up with some fresh ideas. Let's see what Inter and Napoli do."
Former Cagliari coach Allegri admitted that his side struggled in the attacking third of the pitch after falling behind to what turned out to be the game's solitary goal.
"Going behind did us no favours. After that we played well for the remainder of the first-half but it went all wrong in the last third of the pitch. We did though create more in the second-half."
The Rossoneri are five points clear at the top of Serie A having played a game more than champions Inter, who face Lecce at the San Siro tomorrow afternoon.
