Switzerland coach Ottmar Hitzfeld says he is not concerned about his team's poor results.
Switzerland: Switzerland coach Ottmar Hitzfeld says he is not concerned about his team's poor results and lackluster form in the buildup to the World Cup.
Hitzfeld on Thursday launched a defense of his team, which has lost three straight friendly matches at home since qualifying for the finals last October.
Switzerland's 1-0 defeat to Costa Rica on Tuesday means the team's only goal in that losing streak has come from a penalty, while no forward has scored in five matches.
Hitzfeld says he's "not bothered" by the team's performances, insisting his only focus is on its World Cup opener against Spain in two weeks' time.
Switzerland plays world champion Italy in Geneva on Saturday in its last warmup match.
