Johannesburg: Other than the heavyweights of football like Spain, England, Germany and Holland, a number of other nations - many of whom featured in the World Cup in South Africa - were involved in friendlies played on Wednesday.
The most surprising result was Ghana's loss to World Cup host South Africa who won 1-0. Here's a quick review.
South Africa 1 - Ghana 0
Katlego Mphela scored in the 42nd minute to give South Africa a 1-0 win over Ghana at Johannesburg's Soccer City.
Mophela latched onto a pass behind the defence by Steven Pienaar and easily put his shot past Ghana goalkeeper Richard Kingson.
South Africa coach Pitso Mosimane was happy with the performance in his first game since replacing Carlos Alberto Parreira but said there was still room for improvement.
Cameroon 3 - Poland 0
Cameroon's star player Samuel Eto'o scored twice in a 3-0 victory against Poland.
Eto'o, the Cameroon captain and a star striker for Inter Milan, scored in the 30th and 52nd minutes of the match, with Vincent Aboubakar completing the scoring in the 85th minute. It was Poland's fourth defeat in a row.
Croatia 1 - Slovakia 1
Croatia substitute Nikica Jelavic scored a second-half equalizer in a 1-1 draw against Slovakia. Jelovic's header from inside the area in the 54th minute came from Ivan Rakitic's corner.
Earlier in the match, Miroslav Stoch gave Slovakia a 1-0 lead with a shot from the edge of the area in the 50th minute.
Sweden 3 - Scotland 0
A Zlatan Ibrahimovic-inspired Sweden beat Scotland 3-0. Ibrahimovic took less than four minutes to open the scoring in his first match for the national team since returning from a self-imposed break from international football.
Some neat passing along Sweden's right ended with Pontus Wernbloom crossing for Ibrahimovic, who steered the ball in from seven yards.
Emir Bajrami scored Sweden's second in the 39th minute, volleying in after Allan McGregor in Scotland's goal had saved his first effort. Ola Toivonen added a third after 56 minutes.
